A baby wipe with preservative is the best option for your baby’s safe cleaning routine. These avoids bacterial and mould growth. However, care should be taken to not use wipes with overflowing preservative amount as it might cause allergic reactions.

Several baby wipes contain alcohol in different forms. Though alcohol might produce effective cleaning properties, they are never safe for your baby’s skin. Using wipes with less alcohol content or alcohol in other forms like phenoxyethanol or benzyl are somewhat safe.

Some manufacturers promote their wipes displaying the USP as fragrant wipes. However, baby wipes with fragrance do not make any difference to cleaning purpose. And since fragrance might be in the form of a chemical substance, it is advised to choose non-fragrant wipes.

A soulful smile, a tight grip of small fingers on your thumb, a sweet cuddle of tiny arms and a voice that stirs satisfaction in the heart-these elements are common for a parent with a newborn in his or her home.

As a parent, it becomes imperative to care for the newborn in an immaculate way. This also involves massaging his body so that the overall bone structure becomes strong and rigid when he grows. While some parents devise their own way of doing things, others look for expert tips to massage the baby the perfect way.

Given below is a helpful technique through which you can massage your baby in a safer and effective way:

The foremost thing to do is to lay your baby on his stomach and make him stay there comfortably. Make sure that his head is turned to one side. Start massaging from his forehead towards the nape of the baby’s neck. Continue massaging each stroke from the center to the arm, each side at a time. While avoiding the spine, give soft massaging strokes from his neck towards his hips and then down the baby’s legs. Repeat the same method by laying the baby on his back.

When you have a newborn in your home, there are millions of things to be concerned about. Amongst a plethora of concerns, there are some that cause extra stress and are not worth straining on. Here are few things that need not be included in the list of stressful concerns about the newborn baby:

Touching the soft spot on baby’s head:

Despite being cautious it is not mandatory to not to touch the soft areas on the baby’s head.

Blood in the diaper:

Hollow in baby’s chest:

This is basically the breastbone angling backward, not a hollow part. Hence there’s nothing to be worried about.

Hiccups:

Constant hiccupping might seem harmful but are normal and harmless.

Crying:

Crying is the only way through which babies communicate during the first few months. Though you should tend to the problem as soon as observing your baby cry, it is not a stressful concern.

You’ve spent more money on cute onesies than ever imagined possible, but they look so adorable you’ll do it all again this year. Prolonging the quality of these little garments is naturally a priority for you, so follow these onesie saving tips.

Spit-up

Lay the garment on a flat surface and gently scrape what you can off the fabric with a bristle brush (an old toothbrush will do). Then, cover the remaining stain with bicarbonate of soda (baking soda) and after a few minutes, pour some club soda on top to create a fizzing effect before adding to the washer.

Baby Food

Gently scrape away the excess before covering the stain in any liquid laundry detergent, soak in warm water for about 20 minutes, remove from the water and apply a stain remover if you have one. Wash at a high heat depending on the fabric.

Baby Oil

Rub the stain with dish soap before thoroughly rinsing the area under a warm tap, apply a stain remover and wash on the highest heat the fabric can tolerate.

Poop And Pee

Remove excess with a tissue and cover the stain in a liquid detergent, soak in warm water for 30 minutes before adding to a hot wash.

Newborns come with a lot of love, and responsibilities. The delicate little creatures require the utmost care. Here are some tips to follow to give a safe bath to your baby:

Never leave your newborn or toddler unattended for a minute even:

A newborn or toddler can drown in even an inch of water and can slip easily. Make sure you give 100% attention while bathing the baby.

Make your that the temperature in the bathroom is warm enough:

Babies are prone to get cold easily so you must make sure they don’t get hit by cool breezes right after the bath.

Don’t put the baby in the tub without checking water temperature:

A little warm or cold for us can be too warm or too cold for a baby. The skin of a baby is very sensitive so make sure to check the water temperature before putting the baby in it.

Avoid bubble bath:

You should avoid bubble bath as it can infect the urinary tract of the baby and can also cause more chances of baby slipping. Bath the baby slowly.

Make the bathtub safe:

Making use of rubber bath mats will avoid the chances of slipping, making your bathtub more secure.

Without any doubt, it remains no fact that parents face a lot of struggle in taking care of their newborns. They face the confusion of what all they should do for taking care of the little life.

Here are few tips that will help you take care of your newborn.

  1. Change Diaper When Needed: Change your baby’s diaper as and when needed since your baby may develop an infection with a dirty diaper.
  2. Massage your Baby: Gently massage every part of your baby’s body with lukewarm and nutritious oil and give a massage frequently to strengthen their bones.
  3. Feeding: Feed your baby in the most effective way in case you face problems in breastfeeding.
  4. Bathing Tips: Consider giving your baby a sponge bath only until the umbilical cord falls off, the navel and circumcision heals completely. Wrap your baby in a towel and use a soft cloth dampened in water to wipe them from the inner to the outer corner.
  5. Comforting: For comforting your baby as they cry, you must first determine the cause of their discomfort and try to solve it as early as possible. You must soothe them by gently rocking them in your lap or over your shoulder.

If you want to know what happens when you stop breastfeeding, here are some of the changes that occur. Some women find the weaning process easy, whilst others experience some pain and engorgement.

If your breasts become engorged, any stimulation will make it keep happening. What you should do is wear a supportive bra, take some ibuprofen and try to ignore them. The discomfort usually disappears after a few days.

You may notice some solid lumps in your breasts. This is caused by milk absorption and they will go away. When you start weaning, your breasts still fill up with milk. If you no longer breastfeed or pump, your body notifies your brain that the milk isn’t needed anymore.

Your body gets the message to stop producing milk and the cells that helped with its production begin breaking down any milk that’s left over. It can take up to a few months for your body to adjust which means you may still experience a ‘let down’ for some time.

Hormonal changes also occur when you stop breastfeeding and it’s advisable to stop gradually, rather than all at once.  When breastfeeding ends, your prolactin and oxytocin levels drop. Other hormones like progesterone, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and estrogen increase.

Soon to be parents fantasize about the first night with their baby. However, must new parents have many fears and concerns. Here are a few things you should expect on your first night with your newborn:

You are way more prepared than you think:

You might be nervous initially but you will automatically be prepared to handle it all.

Your baby won’t sleep the whole night:

Your newborn baby will wake up every hour, or every 2-3 hours if you’re lucky. You are required to keep checking on your baby the whole night.

Blowouts will happen:

You should be prepared with diapers and napkins to handle any sudden breakouts. Also, their stool at this age is soft enough to leak out from diapers. You need to be extra careful.

You need to tend to yourself too:

It is going to be hard and the baby will have many needs, but make sure you take care of your needs as well.

As if new moms don’t have enough to worry about! When you’re a new mom, you’ll experience situations where you’ll feel caught between the need to respond politely and your “mother bear” instinct. To help you out, here are some tips for handling these awkward circumstances:

Your friend wants to touch your baby without washing her hands first

The best thing to do here is to say something before your friend even gets a hold of your little one. It’s even better if you instruct everyone to wash their hands as soon as they arrive.

Someone you don’t know reaches for your little one without washing his hands first

This is a bit harder to handle but not impossible. You can gently move your little one out of reach than say something like, “Sorry but we’re not doing kisses and hugs today.”

Tesno te stisnem h sebi. Močno močno. Ker ti je to prijetno. . Za vedno tvoja mami. . Fotografiranje dojenčkov . Iskreno . Čutno . Ljubeče . . . #babyphotographer #babyphotography #babyphoto #momandme #mommyandme #newbornphotographer #instababy #babyboy #loveyou #fotografiranjedojenckov #ljubezen #nosecniskofotografiranje #newbornphotography #newborn #newborns #newbornbaby #newbornboy #instanewborn #lessismore #authentic #authenticphotography #naturallight #pregnancy #maternityphotography

Someone close keeps on giving you unsolicited advice

The best thing to do in this situation is by giving a PNR or a positive, non-committal response. This is a lot better than flat-out rejecting the advice.

#passthebaby Congrats to Katie on her soon to arrive #babyboy! 💙💙💙

A post shared by Koby (@kobia700) on

Your friend wants to come over with a “germy” child

In such situation, keep in mind that you’re the one in control. So you can say that it’s not a good day for a visit then think of a good excuse why.

People need to be quiet so they don’t wake up your newborn

You can either politely tell everyone to keep their voices low or establish from the beginning that your friends’ visit can’t take too long.

Kids really change everything and that includes your relationship with your partner. Most couples usually face a series of expected and unexpected challenges once they become parents. These are a few common problems that new parents face.

How to maintain a connection with each other?

The whole rhythm of your relationship changes immediately once the baby comes. This can cause the feeling that you may grow apart, but it’s just temporarily.

You can maintain your connection by occasionally flirting and physically touching each other when you’re in the same room.

How to divide responsibilities?

It’s not easy to come up with an instant parenting plan, but after a while, you’ll be able to see which are the responsibilities that you need to take and you can divide them according to how you feel it’s right.

There is no universal plan, you’ll just have to trust your own connection with each other and conjoin forces while figuring out the most rational plan.

Lack of sleep tears you apart

Lack of sleep generally causes unstable behavior and increases levels of anxiety. But it doesn’t have to affect your relationship.

Just have in mind that it’s a temporary situation and that stress is not caused due to some substantial problems in your relationship.

Iskreno . Čutno . Someone close keeps on giving you unsolicited advice

The best thing to do in this situation is by giving a PNR or a positive, non-committal response. This is a lot better than flat-out rejecting the advice.

#passthebaby Congrats to Katie on her soon to arrive #babyboy! 💙💙💙
