Traveling can be distressing for toddlers. However, if you prepare in advance, it could be a pleasant experience for the kids. Here are some tips to ensure that your trip goes smoothly:

Ask for help

Always ask for assistance with your toddler especially if you are traveling alone. You can ask travelers or staff to help with placing your luggage in the overhead compartment.

Remain calm

There’s a lot to do while traveling by air. You need to get checked in, go through airport security and board the plane. These activities can be stressful for the child, but if you remain calm, the toddler will follow.

Pack carefully

Pack extra diapers and other essential items such as blankets, toys, formula, food, a diaper-changing pad, pacifiers, extra clothes, baby wipes and plastic bags. Don’t pack too many items because you will be carrying the bag.

Nurse during the flight

Nurse your baby during the flight to help soothe it when it gets cranky. The noise can also make the baby cranky.

Use the bathroom to change diapers before boarding

Bathrooms in planes are too small. You may have trouble changing her diapers on the plane even if there is a changing table available.

Going on a trip with your toddler can be a stress-free affair if you plan ahead of time.
