Babies develop hair at different paces. While some are born with a full hair, others are born bald. This shouldn’t be a cause for concern because the baby’s hair will become fuller and longer as time passes. Since baby hair is fragile, you need to be extra careful, so the hair doesn’t break. Here are some tips to help you wash your baby’s hair:

Make it fun

Make the activity fun and comfortable for your baby. Also, make sure the room is warm. Place different accessories such as toy ducks around the area to make it interesting.

Start with shampoo

Use only baby hair care shampoo since it is specially formulated for fragile hair. Apply the shampoo on the scalp first. Make sure you distract your little one before starting. You should hold the baby in a slightly reclined position to prevent soap from entering the infant’s eyes. Support the head as well as the shoulders and lather the shampoo lightly. This helps ease the baby into it and removes fear.

Use a soft sponge

You can opt for a soft sponge to wash your baby’s hair. Start by wetting the hair with the sponge and applying some shampoo. Massage it lightly to lather it. Your touch must be gentle all through this process to protect the soft spots of your baby’s scalp. When you’re done, pour water to get rid of the soapy suds on the hair.

Dry the hair

You can use a hair dryer on a warm setting to dry the hair, so the baby does not catch a cold.
