It is difficult to get your teen to come out on a normal day because of the advent of video games, computers, and cell phones. But spending a lot of time in front of a computer screen is not ideal for anybody. You can engage your teen with some of these tips on a rainy day:

Start a play

Acting is an excellent way to be creative. You can encourage your teen to write a skit or get some from the internet. The play can be performed for friends, family as well as younger kids in the area.

Cooking

You can practice teamwork when you cook together. Prepare lunch or dinner as a team and make it more interesting by giving the food to people who need it more.

Play a card game

You can keep teenagers thinking with card games, some favorites to try out include whist, hearts, rummy, poker and kings in the corner.

Go to the zoo

Visit a zoo or museum to show your teen interesting exhibits and amazing animals. You can also visit art fairs, free concerts, book talks and other local cultural events.

Go bowling

Bowling doesn’t require any expertise, and it is an excellent way to flex your muscle. It may also be a way for your teen to socialize with his peers.

Volunteering

Encourage your teen to volunteer at a food bank, animal shelter, public library or hospital.
