Baby proofing your home the right way

It is said that the real care of a baby starts when he becomes mobile. Needless to say, everything in your home is a hazard when your baby starts walking on his own.

Things like wrapping him up in a safe fabric may sound easy, but it would banish your newborn from exploring the world on his toes.

Though there is no need to cushion every other corner of your home to prevent injuries, it is always good to baby proof the home in an ideal way.

Here are few tips and tricks through which you can safeguard your little one while letting him enjoy on his own:

  • Anchor furniture to walls in the living room
  • Move table clothes and remove unstable floor lamps or vases from center tables
  • Restrict access to fireplaces, electrical outlets, gas stoves and other hazardous areas
  • Install baby proof gates at the start and end of the staircase
  • Lock freezers and refrigerators
  • Keep medications, supplements, and cosmetics out of the reach
  • Restrict the baby’s access to pools, bathtubs, landscape ponds and filled buckets

Last but not least, don’t forget to discuss baby proofing with experienced elders.
