Babies less than a year old can eat solid food, but some may not be suitable for their gentle stomachs. Here, you will find a list of foods that you should avoid before your baby turns one.

Peanut butter

This food contains protein, potassium, and fiber. However, it is quite sticky and can cause dental problems.

Egg whites

This food has lots of health benefits but is dangerous for babies below the age of one. The egg white has bacteria that can upset the baby’s stomach and cause complications.

Canned food

This food is quite convenient, but it is not ideal for babies. It can cause botulism, and the baby can be infected with bacterial infections.

Raw vegetables

Vegetables are rich in nutrients but are not suitable for babies. Some vegetables such as carrot can also be a choking hazard. It is safer to avoid it until your baby is older.

Whole nuts

Nuts may be large and can block your baby’s esophagus. You should not give it to a baby.

Honey

Honey is also a good healer and sweetener, but it is still dangerous for little ones. It has pores as well as other known contaminants that can cause infection in babies.

Whole milk

Milk seems harmless especially since that is all babies eat. But cow’s milk particularly is not suitable for young babies.
