Kids can only ward off flu and colds if they have a strong immune function. Other than vaccinations, you can also help your child by boosting his/her immunity. Here are some tips to keep your kids healthy all year round:

Balanced diet

Feeding your child a balanced diet can help maintain a good immune function. Ensure that the kids eat foods that are high in antioxidants. Such immune boosting foods helps the body repair injury to the cells, build infection-fighting cells and do all that is necessary to protect the body from illness.

Sleep

Sleep is essential for kids as well as adults. Not sleeping enough can disrupt the body’s hormonal function. This inadvertently reduces the power of the body to fight infections. Ensure that your kids get at least eight hours of sleep daily.

Exercising

This also plays a role in boosting the immune system. Moderate exercise increases white blood cell activity. It also improves circulation all over the body. Exercising with your kids for at least thirty minutes per day can be beneficial for both you and the children.

Reduce stress

Stress affects the body’s ability to fight off infections. Even though stress is unavoidable in many cases, you should try to look out for signs of stress in your kids. Do whatever you can to keep it under control.

Stay away from germ hot spots

Shopping cart handles and restaurant menus are some of the most contaminated items in the world. These things may not be avoidable, so this is why you should ensure that the child washes his hands after every outing.
