Many toddlers love to be kitchen helpers. You can involve them to help them develop healthy eating habits. Here are some ways to make it fun for your child:

Pick a Simple Recipe

It would help if you choםse a recipe that is suited to your child’s developmental level. One idea to try out is yogurt and fruit parfait because it does not require a lot of ingredients. Kids are fond of sucking their fingers so ensure that they are not exposed to dangerous uncooked ingredients.

Go Shopping Together

You can shop for the groceries with your child to boost her development. Remember to talk about the ingredients as you pick them out. Ask the child if she wants different colors of ingredients in the salad. You can also start up a spelling lesson with the ingredients.

Involve Your Child in the Kitchen

Give the child simple tasks such as rinsing the fruits, adding sugar, patting, mashing and stirring. You can make it more interesting by allowing an older child to create a smiley face on the pancakes.

Be Watchful

You must supervise everything to prevent accidents. Always talk about what is off limits for children such as sharp utensils, mixers, and hot surfaces. Turn the pot handle inward to prevent accidents.

Praise Your Toddler

You boost your child’s confidence by praising her skills. Also, try to ignore small mistakes such as spilled milk. Doing this will make cooking with your little one fun.
