Stress And Tear Free Tips For Conquering Kindergarten

Kindergarten is just as tough for parents as it is for children. For the child, it’s hard to go from playing all day to a structured learning environment, and it pulls at a parent’s heartstrings to realize that their little baby is growing up.

These tips will help make the transition smoother.

Let Go

Dropping your child off at school will be a battle. Your child may cry. There may be tantrums. Although it makes you feel better, soothing your child is the worst thing you can do. It only makes the separation harder. Even if your child is upset, drop him or her off and leave. The teacher knows how to handle things.

Avoid This Question

If you really want to know what your child does at school, don’t ask directly. Questions like “What did you do at school today?” don’t work. With an open line of communication, your child will share important events with you, but children tend to clam up when asked direct questions. This doesn’t mean your child is growing distant. It simply means that they don’t want to rehash the school day.

With a parent like you, Kindergarten will rock!
