How to Make Teething Easier For Your Infant

Teething is a natural process, but it can be painful and uncomfortable. When your baby grows a tooth, it is time to get toothpaste and a soft bristles toothbrush. Ensure that you get toothpaste that is recommended for kids of that age.

Symptoms of teething

  • Overly disturbed sleep
  • Frequent crying
  • Slight fever
  • Swollen gums
  • Drooling
  • sucking

When you see any of these signs in a 4-month-old, then teething has begun.

What to do

Sadly, you cannot speed up the process to ease your baby’s pain. You have to find other feasible means to make the process as painless as possible for the baby.

You should not give your baby aspirin for the pain. You should not use an oral gel or pain reliever that has a local anesthetic. They aren’t suitable for young children. Speak to the doctor before choosing a pain reliever.

Pain relievers are the last resort. They are only permissible when the baby is in distress. Infant ibuprofen or paracetamol can come in handy. Always read the dosage information leaflet and speak to your doctor if you are still not sure.

Also, if your baby has a high temperature of more than 104 degrees Fahrenheit, you need to go to the hospital immediately.
