Food consumption by toddlers differ. Some eat anything they are fed with while others are fussy eaters. How much food do they need?

What to feed your baby

Children eat and prefer modified soft foods like pasta without spices, tiny bits of cooked chicken, and unsalted vegetable pieces.

Ensure that cereal is a part of the menu. It is filled with iron and B vitamins required for proper development. With time, you can begin to introduce your baby to food with different textures so that it will be easier for her to try new kinds of food.

How much food is enough?

The amount of food toddlers eat vary from day to day and meal to meal. Sometimes children may not eat enough when they are growing, but don’t worry, this is normal. They don’t need as much as you think they need. Toddlers need 900 to 1000 calories every day. This number is quite high considering the fact that kids consume 300 to 500 calories from whole milk alone.

To ensure that your toddler is getting enough food, provide three meals per day as well as three snacks. You can opt for cheese, an unsalted cracker, an English muffin, and some banana.
