Excellent Bedtime Routines for Children

School-age kids need to get adequate sleep every night. This is because not sleeping can affect their day in school as well as their behavior and mood. This is the same for adults. You can create an excellent bedtime routine to help promote healthy sleep for your child. Here are some tips:

Clear up the clutter

Organizing the child’s room before bed can make the room more calm and tranquil. This will ease the process of falling asleep.

Prepare for school

Help the little one pack its school bag, get gear for sports, and pick school clothes. Get jackets if the weather reports are unfavorable and place them at the front door. When your child is mentally ready for school, falling asleep is a breeze.

Take a bath

A warm bath is a perfect activity to get your child ready for bed. Be sure to brush their teeth as well to prevent tooth decay.

Read books

It doesn’t matter if your child is a bookworm or a beginning reader, you can read to your child. Read-only age-appropriate books.

Play soft music

A relaxation CD can come in handy. Ensure that the child likes the sound and use low lights to help him relax. You can also throw in some yoga stretches such as cobras or downward stretches.

Keep his favorite stuffed animal close and tuck him in.
