Living and sleeping in the same bedroom can help siblings to make a strong connection between each other. However, sometimes your kids can have so much fun together that they won’t be willing to go to sleep or they’ll be fighting and make a bit of a mess.

Here are some tips that can help your kids share a bedroom peacefully and go to sleep when they’re supposed to.

Respect each child’s bedtime needs

If your kids are sharing a room it doesn’t necessarily mean that they are sharing a bedtime. It would be great if you create a special nighttime routine that allows each child to fulfill its pre-bed needs.

Never a dull moment. Even bed time they insist on being entertaining. "Jenny watch this… Jenny look at this… " 🔸 🔸 These two weirdos have so much fun together. I often think that is what has made being a full time overnight all week twin nanny easier. 🔸 They play well with each other so when I need a break because I've been alone with them for days straight with no other adult contact they are more than happy to find their own fun among each other. 🔸 🔸 Finding little moments to myself are very important and healthy for my sanity! 🔸 🔸 Sometimes these moments consist of setting the twins up with a movie, having them play out back on their own, giving them a few books to read… I've certainly had to come up a few clever ideas at times when they really are being extra all day. 🤣 🔸 Nannies, Mom's, and Dad's I know you can relate. Even just hiding in the bathroom can be relaxing. Yet sometimes they still follow you there! 🔸 🔸 Are you with your kiddos 24/7? Do you find ways to give yourself a break? What do you do to make these breaks possible? What do you like to do when you get a moment to yourself? 🔸 🔸 Lord knows it doesn't last long. 🤣Share away. We could all use more tips. 💛 🔸 #nannylife #nannyprobs #momprobs #dadprobs #nannyj #nanny #twinlife #twins #twinning #sillyfaces #sillykids #breaktime #help #bedtime #kidsbedtime #silliness #children #kids #love #heartandsoul #❤

It can be really hard to see your child having problems with irrational beliefs and partaking in bizarre rituals. You immediately ask yourself about the way you should react in such a situation. We would like to show 3 crucial tips that should make it easier for you to help your child and understand its problem.

Educate yourself and your child on OCD

The theoretical insight into the heart of the problem can be very helpful. The more you know the more you’ll be getting constructive ideas on how to make everything easier for your kid. You can help your child by explaining to them what OCD is and how it affects their thinking.

Don’t be part of their activities

You must be a solid ground for your child’s psychical development. That is why you shouldn’t take part in their rituals because if you do, your child will lose a confidence. This is a referential example of someone who doesn’t suffer from OCD and who can be a role – model for their further development.

Keep an eye out for new activities

You must keep a track of your child’s behavior. If it comes up with some new activities you must notice it and help it think about the way to overcome the possible negative effects of it.

Kids really change everything and that includes your relationship with your partner. Most couples usually face a series of expected and unexpected challenges once they become parents. These are a few common problems that new parents face.

How to maintain a connection with each other?

The whole rhythm of your relationship changes immediately once the baby comes. This can cause the feeling that you may grow apart, but it’s just temporarily.

You can maintain your connection by occasionally flirting and physically touching each other when you’re in the same room.

How to divide responsibilities?

It’s not easy to come up with an instant parenting plan, but after a while, you’ll be able to see which are the responsibilities that you need to take and you can divide them according to how you feel it’s right.

There is no universal plan, you’ll just have to trust your own connection with each other and conjoin forces while figuring out the most rational plan.

Lack of sleep tears you apart

Lack of sleep generally causes unstable behavior and increases levels of anxiety. But it doesn’t have to affect your relationship.

Just have in mind that it’s a temporary situation and that stress is not caused due to some substantial problems in your relationship.

How to raise your kid well is one of the toughest questions to answer. Throughout time, there were lots of different approaches to parenting.

Every approach has its pros and cons, but we can highlight at least 3 main things which can set the criteria for any parent. A good parent should: 1) love his child; 2) be patient; 3) have will to understand his child’s personality.

Aside from these 3 conditions, we can also point out some important steps that you should consider taking:

Boosting your child’s self-esteem

Kid’s sense of self is very fragile and is in a process of fast development. Parents should understand their child during each phase of development and be supportive. Frequently, the child can feel insecure and frightened by changes that constantly occur.

That is the place where parents should provide a safe place for their kid’s self-development by boosting kid’s self – esteem.

Set limits and be consistent with your discipline

Setting limits is one of the most important parts of parenting. Your child still doesn’t know what is good or bad for it, so you must set things straight with some restrictions. Establishing household rules helps kids understand your expectations and develop self – control which is a key element for the further self-development of your child.

Be a good role model

Young kids learn a lot about how to act by watching what their parents do. You really don’t want to be guilty of your child’s bad behavior only because you couldn’t control yourself. Self – control is important both for children and their parents.

No matter how amazing your daughter is and how wonderful your relationship is, there is always work to be done to improve it.

Some fathers find it difficult to approach their daughters because they are afraid they will mess something up during the upbringing. By creating a stronger bond with your little girl, you will become a better father and she will become a better person.

Teach her new things

Most little girls look up to their dad as a man who can do everything. Your daughter will look up to you even more if you teach her how to do housework, how to fish or ride a bike.

It’s something that will shape her and strengthen your relationship with her.

Listen

In traditional environments, girls are afraid to tell their dad things because they may get overprotective and angry.

No matter what you feel, you have the obligation to listen to her. She will open up to your more and respect you for being supportive.

Be creative

Your daughter will love when you give her a surprise gift, when you take her on a trip and when you do things she doesn’t expect. It’s not about being a man or a woman – it’s about being a parent.

But a lot of times, it’s also hard for kids when their parents work from home. This is especially true for younger children, although it can also affect older kids. This is because the home is their comfort zone and it’s where they spend time with the family.

So when the parents work from home, children may feel rejected. Think about it, when you’re working and your child needs attention, will you give it willingly? Chances are, you’ll prioritize your job which will make your little one feel like you don’t want to be with him/her.

Fortunately, there are some things you can do to reduce the negative impact this has on your child. For one, you can ask someone to bring your child to the park or to the museum while you finish your tasks at home. If your child is a bit older, you can also talk to him/her, explain that you need to work for a couple of hours then you can spend time with each other after.

As parents, we all want our kids to grow up to be well-disciplined. But sometimes, the process of disciplining children forces our hand. But no matter how you look at it, discipline can cause trauma to children.

Because of this, researchers, child advocates, and even physicians believe that discipline is not really necessary when raising children, Instead, there are zero discipline methods parents can use to get their child to cooperate.

The Kazdin Method

The director of the Yale Parenting Center at Yale University, Dr. Alan Kazdin came up with this method. He believes that punishing kids is actually counterproductive and it won’t lead to the positive behaviors parents desire. With this method, you teach your child how to act appropriately through simulation rather than rather than by reprimanding.

In Chapter 5 of my book, The Call to Love I begin to discuss some of the parenting strategies we use in our home. I don't think parenting can be done in a cookie cutter, one method works for all parents, and all kids kind of world. So I believe it is important for each parent to determine what will work for them & this kiddo, in this season of life. ……….. This week's blog post is paired with Chapter 5 from the book, focusing on more information re The Kazdin Method. Which you have totally heard of, even if you think you haven't. (Link in bio) …………. Peaceful Parenting

Dr. Laura Markham suggests that the key to parenting is to base your relationship with your child on warmth, mutual respect, and love. Do this instead of forcing your child to see you as an authority figure he/she must obey.

In all honesty, I’ve found myself doing the counting thing lately because my husband did it with our 6 year old, and it worked! But I thought, what am I teaching him here? Yes, I can count (which has no natural or logical part of the request). Yes, I can threaten and manipulate to get faster results. But there’s no connection and no communication about the importance of my request. It’s all about me getting what I want and no understanding towards my son at all. It feels empty and controlling. (And btw, it does not work on my 3 year old- she just laughs and wonders what the counting is for. 😳😂) #Guidance, #empathy and #connection take a bit more time, but have a positive long term outcome! 💜 • • • [Quote: @parentingconnection Original Image: @_lyndamenard_ – thank you! ] • • • For more #gentleparenting_memes inspiration, go to www.gentleparentingmemes.com #BEthechange #Normalizegentleparenting #Normalisegentleparenting #parenting #gentleparenting #peacefulparenting #parents #babies #toddlers #children #attachmentparenting #positiveparenting #respectfulparenting #naturalparenting #consciousparenting #parentingbook *Pls respect the work of the authors, photographers & creators, do not crop or edit memes when sharing. ©Gentle Parenting Memes

Positive Parenting

This method came from the field of positive psychology. It’s built on the concept of nurturing a child’s abilities, strengths, and talents rather than trying to correct their flaws.

Unconditional Parenting

Alfie Kohn created this method and it focuses on offering your child unconditional love no matter how he behaves or what he does.

We all want well-mannered children, but they don’t enter the world that way. Here are a few tips for bringing up well-mannered kids.

Model good manners

If you want your child to have good manners, you have to have good manners yourself. Children model their behavior on the behavior of others, especially their parents, so be a well-mannered parent as a first step.

Arm them with the right words

From infancy, instill polite words and phrases into your children. ‘Please’, ‘thank you’, ‘excuse me’, ‘no thank you’, and ‘may I’ are the very basics.

Rehearse at home

To ensure your child knows how to behave in a well-mannered way, tell them what the rules are, and include these in everyday activities such as play.

Practice patience

No-one learns good manners overnight, least of all a small child. Be patient, and encourage them to think about others instead of just themselves. Teach them to listen and respect others.

Get over your prejudices

As we said, children model their behavior on their parents. If you are biased against a group or person, keep it to yourself. The last thing a child needs is to learn prejudice.

Your children are learning how to take care of themselves with each passing day. In this process, they will most likely be at risk of becoming too dependent on you when it comes to playing.

Thankfully, there are many things you can do to intervene and help them learn how to play independently. These five simple things will turn your child into a more independent and more creative person from the get-go.

While Bash naps, I’m happily letting Victoria enjoy her independent play because I may have stayed up until 2 am binge watching Catastrophe on Amazon Prime last night 🤷🏻‍♀️ And it probably wasn’t the best decision considering Bash was up from 4-5 am 🤦🏻‍♀️ But oh the laughs! If you haven’t seen it, check it out! Turn off the TV

Children have a hard time learning to play by themselves due to the constant presence of the TV. Change that and independence will ensue.

Play with your kids

If you play with your child, he or she will learn by mimicking. When they see enough, they will want some time for themselves to play.

Don’t overburden them with extracurricular activities

Every child needs freedom in their schedule and yours is no exception. They want to plan their own schedule, and you should allow them to.

Ignore boredom

When your child is bored, make them solve their boredom by themselves. It will help independence massively.

Shower them with praise

Praise your kids for their independence. This is a big motivating factor they can sure use at this young age.

When you’re a parent, it’s always challenging to get your kids to go to sleep. From an early age, they are fascinated by the notion of staying up late, seeing it as a privilege.

They are full of energy, so it can be quite hard to get them to take a snooze. Thankfully, there are five effective ways to persuade the kids to take a snooze.

Establish a routine

Be persistent and the kids will catch the routine in no time. Patience is everything that you need here.

Power off

Create a tradition of keeping the gadgets out of the sleeping quarters. They will fall asleep better.

Kill the monsters

Explain to them that there is nothing to worry about when it comes to the dark. A good talk will calm them down.

Eliminate pre-bed sugars

Foods high in sugars cause energy spikes, making kids hyperactive. By taking out such snacks before bed, your kid will get tired much faster.

Integrate sports

Children generally grow up much healthier if they take up sports at an early age. That healthiness stems directly from the fact that they sleep more, due to frequent exhaustion.

What do you think of it?

Three seasons to binge watch! 🙌🏼 #mamaneedsanap . . . . . #victoriaelena #threeyearsold #rainbowbaby #kidsofig #ig_childhood #cutekidsofinstagram #instagood #thatsdarling #darlingmovement #letthekids #letthembelittle #candidchildhood #independentplay #imaginationatwork #tiredmama #amazon #amazonprimevideo #catastrophe #bingewatching #hilarioustv #shouldhavesleptmore #thestruggleisreal #ig_motherhood #uniteinmotherhood #sahmlife #adayinthelife #momswithcameras #momtog #raisingmytinyhumans
