]]>Here are some ideas to add to your routine to help your child feel loved:
Always listen when your child tries to speak to you. Maintain eye contact and show that you are listening. Be enthusiastic about the discussion even if it is about something you have heard a million times.
Hug your child and kiss his/her on the cheek regularly. Such physical contact helps promote bonding between you and your child. It will also reduce the development of low self-esteem, behavioral and psychological problems
When it comes to praising the child, quality trumps quantity. Always let your child know that you are proud of them for the effort. You should not praise the child for everything, but be sure to recognize something the child does out of the ordinary.
Allow your child to help with house chores. Also give your child an opportunity to teach you some things, let them set the table or take out the trash. They can even walk the dog. Be sure to thank the child when they teach you something new.
Your child can keep you company while running errands. Invite them to join you for a ride. Having her tag along may slow you down, but it is always worth it.
