]]>Cover your face with your palm and open it while screaming “Peekaboo.” This game is quite popular with toddlers and can entertain them for several years. Babies love being surprised so you can make it more interesting by making a funny face or wearing a funny hat.
Babies are always fascinated by noise. Fill some water bottles with buttons, rice or any other item that can be shaken to produce sound. Dangle the bottle in front of the baby during playtime. You can also choose to place the baby on a high chair and dangle it from all angles. Make sure the lid is secured tightly to prevent injuries if the lid opens. Also, don’t allow your baby to chew on the bottle.
Get storybooks with pictures and simple action words. Sit the baby on your lap and read enthusiastically. Stories with lots of repetitive phrases are ideal for this purpose.
This game is similar to ‘hide and seek.’ Hide your baby’s teddy bear in one room and carry the baby around the house to search for the toy. Remember to ask ‘Where’s the teddy?” as you go from room to room.
Play music and sing along while helping your baby clap her hands and feet. Show the baby how to dance with body movements.
